Le projet du groupe français comprend notamment la construction et l’exploitation d’un nouveau terminal d’une capacité d’un million de passagers par an.
Le groupe français ADP a signé avec le gouvernement guinéen et la plateforme d’investissement Africa50, lundi 17 février, une convention de concession de vingt-cinq ans pour le développement de l’aéroport international de Gbessia, à Conakry, ont indiqué dans un communiqué le gestionnaire de l’aéroport et Africa50.
L’accord a été signé lors d’une cérémonie de présentation du projet à Conakry. Il fait suite à la signature d’un pacte d’actionnaires, le 3 février, aux termes duquel les partenaires se sont engagés à prendre une participation dans la nouvelle compagnie qui portera le projet, la Société de gestion de l’aéroport de Gbessia (Sogeac), précise le communiqué. A l’issue de cette opération, le capital est réparti entre le gouvernement de Guinée (34 %), Africa50 (33 %) et le Groupe ADP (33 %).
« Le projet comprend la construction et l’exploitation d’un nouveau terminal pour les passagers domestiques et internationaux et les infrastructures y afférentes : une nouvelle aérogare pour le fret, une aire de stationnement, la rénovation et l’extension de la piste et des voies de circulation principales », selon le texte.
« Un investissement fondamental »
Le nouveau terminal aura une capacité d’un million de passagers par an, soit plus du double de la capacité actuelle, et celle-ci devrait être atteinte d’ici à 2031, affirment la Sogeac et Africa50, plateforme d’investissement créée par les chefs d’Etats africains et la Banque africaine de développement (BAD). La première phase du projet, dont l’investissement s’élève à près de 120 millions d’euros, devrait démarrer cette année, selon la même source.
Le Groupe ADP, qui gère 24 aéroports dans le monde dont Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle et Orly, « apportera son savoir-faire en matière d’opérations aéroportuaires » et Africa50 « son expertise en termes de développement et de financement de projets et assurera la liaison entre les investisseurs privés et le gouvernement guinéen ».
« Pour le Groupe ADP, cet aéroport est un investissement fondamental dans le cadre de son développement en Afrique, à un moment où le continent va connaître une forte croissance de son trafic passagers », a déclaré Xavier Hurstel, directeur général adjoint chargé de coordonner les opérations de développement du Groupe ADP, cité dans le communiqué.
